Pennsylvania Heritage (ISSN 0270-7500) brings to life the compelling saga of Pennsylvania history through diverse, insightful stories spanning all periods, from ancient to contemporary, written by leading authors in their fields. In its scope, the magazine strives to connect Pennsylvania’s past with what the commonwealth is today or is likely to become in the future.

Pennsylvania Heritage is published quarterly by the Pennsylvania Historical & Museum Commission (PHMC), the official history agency of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, and the Pennsylvania Heritage Foundation, PHMC’s nonprofit partner.

The magazine has been in publication since December 1974. This website is a free online archive of all issues published before the current season.

Pennsylvania Heritage is a benefit of membership in the Pennsylvania Heritage Foundation. A one-year  Heritage-level membership is $35 and includes four print issues of the magazine. To enroll, go to paheritage.org or call toll free 866-823-6539.
