Letters to the Editor
Written by PA Heritage Staff in the Letters category and the Summer 1987 issue Topics in this article:“Not for Oneself”
As president of the College of Physicians of Philadelphia, please accept my many thanks for the excellent article about the college (“Not for Oneself, But for All,” fall 1986) written by our curator of historical collections, Thomas A. Horrocks. Your interest, as we celebrate the bicentennial of the College of Physicians, is greatly appreciated.

The Movie Mogul
Both my wife and I, and more importantly my mother, Leslie Rubenstein Silberberg (whose mother was Siegmund Lubin’s screenwriter for a few years), enjoyed Linda Kowall’s excellent article (“Siegmund Lubin: The Forgotten Filmmaker,” winter 1986) very much. Thank you for the great article and please convey my appreciation to the author.

Mailbox
Thank you for including my query concerning the 98th Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry (Civil War) in the fall 1986 edition. I only received one response to my request in “Mailbox,” but I am happy to report that it was invaluable! A descendant of one of the infantry’s members contacted me and we have since developed a mutually beneficial relationship. Every such contact is a great help in my quest to write a regimental history of the 98th.

Eagles Mere
The summer 1986 issue contained a feature article on Eagles Mere (“Of Cottages and Kings“) by Laura Sickel Mumma. The photograph on pages 20-21 of the general staff of the Forest Inn, taken in 1908, and furnished by Doris Puderbaugh is very interesting because I believe the woman fifth from the left and in the third row is my great aunt, Ella Metzger!

Your magazine certainly deserves credit for celebrating the Constitution’s bicentennial with educational and enjoyable articles. Will reprints of the series of articles be available? If so, how can I obtain them?
