The Comprehensive Historic Site Survey of Indiana County is seeking information on The Old Crist Mills in Indiana County, by Newell Al Schappelle. Of particular interest is the map contained in that book and photographs of the grist mills. Information should be forwarded to the survey at the History Department, Keith Hall, Indiana University of Pennsylvania, Indiana 15701.

 

The Elizabeth Township Historical Society has lost its set of Pennsylvania Heritage. It is attempting to locate available copies of the following back issues: Vol. I, No. 1 (Armstrong); Vol. I, No. 2 (Centre): Vol. II, No. 1 (Allegheny); Vol. II, No. 3 (Bicentennial); Vol. III, No. 1 (Greene); and Vol. III, No. 3 (Luzerne). The Union County Historical Society is seeking information on blacksmiths for a new project it is developing. Anyone aware of old account books, photographs, invoices, or older persons who might give oral accounts of local blacksmiths and their activities should contact Nada Gray at the society.
