Heritage Week 2000, commemorating the 319th anniversary of the founding of Pennsylvania by William Penn will be observed March 10-19 [2000]. During the commemoration, the 1681 Charter given to Penn by England’s King Charles II will be on exhibit at The State Museum of Pennsylvania. On Sunday, March 12 [2000], the historic sites and museums sites and museums along the Pennsylvania Trail of History will celebrate Charter Day by offering free general admission to all visitors.
