One of America’s earliest – and unusual – communal villages, Ephrata Cloister, a unique complex of medieval style buildings in Lancaster County, offers a rare glimpse at a radical eighteenth century community once inhabited by devout religious celibates and today best known for its original music, fraktur and books. Throughout the year, Ephrata Cloister conducts special programs, events, and workÂshops for visitors of all ages.
