A reprint of a famous book of Pennsylvania history that should arouse considerable interest is George P. Donehoo’s A History of the Indian Villages and Place Names in Pennsylvania, published in 1928 and reprinted by Gateway Press, Baltimore. Two recent publications from the American Association for State and Local History should be of interest to local historical organizations. Willa K. Baum’s Transcribing and Editing Oral History provides guidelines for transcribing, editing, and indexing oral history interviews. Costume Display Techniques, by Karyn Jean Harris, treats the selection, research, restoration, and display of costumes.


Historical societies may be interested in Trends in Non-Profit Organizations Law, a book which covers such topics as tax exemption, dissolution, and internal regulation.
