The collection contains approximately one hundred photographs; it is a pictorial history of Bucks County buildings that existed in the 1940’s when Siskind employed his fixed-lens Voightlaner Avis camera.
The book is available at the Mercer Museum Shop, Pine Street, Doylestown, at $12.95. Persons are requested to phone the Museum Shop (348-4373) for information about mail orders.
The Eleutherian Mills Historical Library of Wilmington, Del., has published an eighteen-page brochure about the holdings of its Pictorial Collections Dept. The Cumberland County Historical Society is reproducing Rupp’s History of Dauphin, Cumberland, Adams, Franklin, Bedford and Perry Counties.
The reprint contains exactly the 600 pages of the original 1846 edition but will have added to it an index with 10,000 entries, compiled by John Fralish, Jr. of the society.
Orders will be processed at Cumberland County Historical Society. After March 15 [1975] the price will be $15.00 for any extra copies purchased by the society for re-sale.
Birth of Forestry in America, a reprint of the long out-of-print classic, The Biltmore Story by Carl A. Copies of the reprinted Stocker’s History of Susquehanna County are available at the Susquehanna County Library, Montrose. This is the second county history to be reprinted by the Susquehanna County Historical Society.
McKnight’s History of Jefferson County, by William J. McKnight, M.D., published by J. H. Beers Co., Chicago in 1917, is being reprinted as a two-volume set including a new surname index of over 2400 names.
